This plant is endemic (occurs naturally) to the subalpine scrub areas of the Tararua ranges. Sturdy, spreading main branches and branchlets. Roundish thin leaves to 20 mm, matt green. White flowers in summer up to 30 mm long. 1 metre wide x 1 metre high. Has a ball-like habit and resembles the Buxus hedge plant.
It should be planted in full sun with well-drained soil. It is very hardy and will cope with frost. Simple to grow from cuttings.
