Apodasmia similes is a bluish-green native rush with dark bands along the stem of the leaves and is endemic to New Zealand.

This Veronica is endemic (occurs naturally) in the Wellington region. Size is up to 2m high and 1 m wide. Will withstand gales and salt spray. Has a bushy upright habit with dark green leaves up to 4 cm long arranged symmetrically.

This plant is endemic (occurs naturally) to the subalpine scrub areas of the Tararua ranges. Sturdy, spreading main branches and branchlets. Roundish thin leaves to 20 mm, matt green. White flowers in summer up to 30 mm long. One metre wide x one metre high. Has a ball-like habit and resembles the Buxus hedge plant.

Veronica hulkena

This is a unique veronica and a favourite amongst NZ gardeners. Can reach 1 m tall. Its flower is pale violet, mauve, pale pink or almost white. It occurs naturally on rocky banks, and river gorges, but in the home garden prefers well drained soil and a warm site. It flowers from late October to December.

Veronica parviflora

Pioneer shrub (under 10m) - native to the Wellington Region Hardy, growing in most conditions. However its ability to grow happily in shady, dry and difficult spots that it really comes into its own.
